How to play
Each case has six suspects, six places and six methods. One card of each kind is sealed in an envelope, and the rest are dealt out to the players. Your goal is to work out which suspect, place and method are in the envelope.
On your turn, you question one other player about a suspect, a place and a method. If they hold any of those cards, they must secretly show you one; everyone else only sees that a card was shown, not which. Every question goes into a public log, and a detective notebook helps you keep track of what you’ve ruled out. With witness clues on, an extra card is revealed to everyone after each full round of questions.
When the questions run out, everyone names their suspect, place and method at the same time. The right suspect is worth 3 points, the right place and method 2 each, and getting all three earns 3 more. Feeling sure early? Make a bold accusation while you still have questions left: if it’s fully correct, your points double. The reveal shows the solution and the culprit’s motive, and the highest score wins.
