Closest Wins

How to play

Every round, the whole room gets the same trivia question with a numeric answer: how tall, how far, how many. Each player types one number on their own phone and locks it in. Nobody sees the other guesses until the answer is revealed, and a locked guess can’t be changed.

The reveal shows the real answer with its source and everyone’s guess next to it. Points depend on how close you were relative to the answer: a guess that is 5% off scores far more than one that is 25% off, and a guess that is way off scores nothing. The closest guess in the room earns a 100-point bonus on top, so even a rough guess can pay off if everyone else is further away.

The host picks a category before the game (science, geography, history, sport, food or a mix). After the last question, the highest total wins; ties go to whoever was closest most often.
